REMOTE ORGANIZER REMOTE ORGANIZER

Reviews

[[ASIN:B000GPM30E 4 Pocket Remote Control Holder and Organizer (Black) (3"H x 10"D x 8"diameter) The photo I saw had the image it was spiral in design. The product I received had all the remotes straight up and down. The opening of the slots need to be enlarged as it is difficult to place a Wii remote. When shipment arrived the wooden ball at the top of the organizer was split in half. It does save some space but is cumbersome to use.

This product is really good. Fits almost all remotes. However the wooden ball on the top of it was smashed into 5 pieces when I recieved it.

This holds Dish Network remote, tv remote, the DVD remote and even the Select Comfort remote. Sturdy metal so my cats can't knock it over and doesn't take up much space even on a bedside table.

This organizer is just cheaply made. And, it's not very good for holding remotes. I have five remotes, but one of them I use all the time so I thought a holder for four would be a good idea. One of my remotes is pretty small. It's the only one that fits well into this organizer. It's not very convenient to use. And that's supposed to be the reason you're buying this kind of a product.

I read many of the reviews for this product, and although some of the reviews made me hesitant to order the remote organizer due to concerns regarding size, went ahead anyway. This product not only does the job of organizing my remotes (including the large Harman/Kardon remote, which needed the top slot in the organizer), it LOOKS REALLY COOL in my living room! Just remember to put the narrow end in first, and use the top slot of the largest of your remotes. Yes, the remotes will stick out, but that does not detract from its looks or what it was intended to do, keep it all together!

Remote Organizer gives a modern twist to remote organization. Curved, step shape allows specific remotes to be viewed or accessed from any direction and prevents misplacement. Transport station easily with ball shaped handle...

TV Clicker Caddy (Clear) (6 1/2 TV Clicker Caddy (Clear) (6 1/2"W x 5"D x 5 1/2"H)

Just got this product, a little pricy, but very well put together (I guess you do get what you pay for), it is a plastic, but it is not glued together it appears to be one molded piece, very sturdy. With cable DVR, TV, stero, DVD player and computer remote, this unit holds them all upright where I can get to them (also tells everybody to put them back in one place so we can find them later). Very satisfied so far.

Well made and sturdy, this really helps organize things kept where I watch tv, listen to music, etc. It takes getting used to removing the right remote, orienting it, then using it and, hopefully, putting it away again! The only inconvenience is that the two compartments are rather large (roomy) which permits things to move (slip) around a bit. Bottom line is it's nice looking, useful and a good buy!

Bought this about a year ago. It is a nice organizer. It IS plastic, so you have to be careful not to drop it because it would crack.

to put all of your remotes and know where they are. A great little item.

I like this holder because it is clear and tends to be "invisible" on the table. Plenty of room for my four remotes, plus a pen, and even a small shortwave radio. On the down side, one must be careful to place remotes into the caddy carefully as they can slip and slide. This isn't an issue for me. Other than that, I would have given it a 5 start rating. The price was right, too.

Control your remotes with this attractive acrylic remote control organizer. Roomy compartments give you ample space for storing multiple remote controls and TV program guides. Designed to look good on a coffee table or other high-visibility surface, this remote caddy also can be used as a desk-top organizer for office supplies, on a bathroom vanity for toiletries, in the kitchen, or anywhere you need a simple storage solution...

Cordless Ceiling/Wall Light With Remote Control Light Switch Cordless Ceiling/Wall Light With Remote Control Light Switch

Reviews

These ceiling/wall lights are a bit larger than I expected for the number of LEDs they have. They give out good light as would be expected from LEDs. The housing takes up much of the size of the lights. The reason I purchased these lights was to provide lighting on my sailboat, which would save the sailboat's "house battery bank," which brings up my biggest dissapointment. Size may not be important for some. That said, I wanted to have one light in the Captain's stateroom, one light in the crews stateroom, and one light in the main salon Head (bathroom). Turns out that pushing any remote on/off switch controls "all" the lights that are present on the sailboat even if they are more than 30' from each other. So, if someone uses the head at night, it turns on the lights in each of the staterooms as well. There should be some way, aside from uninstalling batteries, to disable lights you don't want to turn on at times. So, I'm relegated to just using one of these lights on my sailboat, bummer. I suppose this challenge would be the same in a home with lights in different rooms, if those rooms are close together, such as a hall closet and a closet in a guest room. They both turn on with either on/off switch. So, if a guest is sleeping, with her closet door open, that light will shine in her face when someone else turns on the hall closet light. Bummer. Perhaps one upside is that you can place the remotes in different locations and control the light(s) at, say, entrances and exits, I suppose. Other than these issues, the lights give out good light, however, I'm not sure how long the batteries will last. In the final analysis, if you are just buying one light, or can keep them out of range of each other's remotes, than this would get 4 stars from me, as the size, due to the housing, is quite large. It would be great if there was some way to isolate the lights on the remote control switch. That would override my need for smaller lights and I would give 5 stars. Thanks, Captain Tony

Television's Greatest Hits, Vol.6: Remote Control Television's Greatest Hits, Vol.6: Remote Control

It's hard to complain when your getting 65 themes in one collection, but this volume has some disappointing themes on it. I am still waiting for some of these classic, but more obscure themes to surface. The themes sound quality range from OK to excellent, but this is an improvement over the first two CD's as far as sound is concerned. Also, some of the themes don't have the ending credits themes included, which would have been nice. Another problem is that some shows had different themes throughout their run and not all are included. Over all this set is not bad, but be prepared for some disappointments. I own all 7 CD's from this set and many others, but for some reason some very cool themes aren't included. I've had to do some serious treasure hunting to find them on DVD's or VHS to transfer them to CD. If you can find this at a reasonable price then buy it.

Out of all the CDs (TV themes) I own, this one easily is the best for me. The only one that I can press play at the beginning and allow to go all the way through. Shoot, some of the theme songs I've never even seen the show attached, but the songs are all catchy, and, even better IMO, is that there is a wide range of goodies. A definite must for the Mushy-for-the-old-school.

Growing up during the '80's I saw almost all of these shows listed on this CD. I specifically bought this CD for one theme in particular, "Hardcastle & Mccormick", which I could not find anywhere else short of buying the series DVD set. How disappointing it was to find that most of the themes on this CD were not complete but instead snippets that last 1 minute (give or take 5-15 seconds or so). And the sound quality on some of these sounds like someone put a cassette recorder up to a TV to capture the song. Not what I wanted when paying $30 bucks. This CD would be a good buy at $10 bucks or less. Any more and you are getting robbed. Now I must decide to keep this CD or try and sell or trade it to recoup my loss. I was going to buy another of the TV theme CD's but now NO WAY!

Again, one of the great CD's that will get you reminiscing!!! Great for parties and long drives.

This is a collection of 65 TV themes from the '70s and '80s. They all seem to be the original versions of the themes, unlike some of the earlier volumes in the series, which had some rerecordings. These are the TV shows I grew up with, so there is a lot of nostalgia here for me. I like the sitcom themes the best, because that is mostly what I watched when I was a kid. A lot of them are really cheesy, but I love 'em. If you watched too much TV during the '70s and '80s, you will probably get a kick out of this CD.

U.S. Patrol JB5532 2 In 1 Motion Alarm/Chime U.S. Patrol JB5532 2 In 1 Motion Alarm/Chime

Reviews

This does exactly as it says. The chime is kind of annoying (and it's pretty loud), but the alarm is mainly what I wanted it for, and it's loud. Yeah, the unit is not the greatest quality, but if you are looking for something cheap that can be armed/disarmed remotely, and just makes a whole ton of noise if someone moves into an area that you don't want them, this will do the trick. One good whack, though, and it's probably done for. So, just put it up high, where it can't be reached. Mount it to the ceiling if you're at all worried about that! Heh. It makes a ton of noise when motion is detected...job done. The wall-mount has a swiveling arm that connects to the unit, so you can move the sensor left/right up/down to your desired position. As for long term, I'll return to this review if anything occurs, but as of right now, it's fine and easily earns it's 5 stars. I mean, come on, it's $12, and very effective. Don't expect ADT, and you'll be satisfied. It's $12!

Purchased this product for our second home. Have the GE comparable item at our front doors and the chime is pleasant. This product is installed in the lanai and works well as the GE but the chime is continuous as motion is detected. Little annoying but it does what it is supposed to. Works well outdoors in a covered area in FL even when we had a cold spell for a couple of weeks. If you are using this product for the chime, I would recommend the GE, it is a little more pleasant. Have tested the alarm function and it is loud. This product comes with two remotes. One of the remote came with a dead battery. Its a little difficult to arm and disarm. Only one button on the remote and it takes a few tries to know when it is armed. The GE comes with one remote that is a little more simple to operate. It has an arm/disarm button also a switch on side of remote for chime or alarm. This product you have to go to the main unit and manually switch from chime to alarm. If the unit is placed high, you have to get a ladder to activate the switch. Would recommend the GE, the range is much longer and it is great to announce if someone is at your front door. Overall the product does what it is described to do. Hope this helps with your purchase.

OK , I will be honest, this unit works fine if you are right in front of it and it is mounted under 4 foot off the floor (arm hight), But if its over 4 foot high it does not work, I guess a thief designed this one! Dont waste your time or money on this crap, not near the quality that I expect from amazon, but I guess all the junk dealers from that auction site have to sell the stuff someplace, I wish Amazon had some sort of quality control on what they sell, 99.5% of the many many things I have bought from Amazon is of good quality, this does not belong here, I just hope this is not a sign of things to come, this one Oh Crap just took out a bunch of att a boys . THIS THING IS SAD, and they are selling it for some sort of protection, yea right, would not put it on a dog house!

Great little unit for the price, we'll see how long it lasts and how many times my wife sets it off when she gets up at night to go poddy...

Remote Viewing & ESP From The Inside Out - Ingo Swan LIVE 2 DVD Set Remote Viewing & ESP From The Inside Out - Ingo Swan LIVE 2 DVD Set

Reviews

Ingo Swann is the ultimate authority on remote viewing. This is the place to get the facts. Incredible DVDs! Fascinating!

Most ESP documentaries, or books are just awful. I have read quite a few, and my meditation sessions still reveal more detailed events in present, or future more than what I have learned from these types of films and books. The camera work is shoddy, they even have a moment where they gave a prayer to someone they know that had passed at the time of the lecture....okay, it was not a minute, more like 15 minutes. Terrible in every way I did not expect. The lecturers side-step their own presentations MANY times, Forget most of what they are trying to explain, and add far too much extraneous information than anything else I have purchased that has been 'exclusive' to UFOTV fans. Do not buy this product. Unless you want to edit the final package yourself, to find some understanding in what they are trying to convey.

This 2-dvd set is a course in explaining the origins of remote viewing and also related disciplines in other fields. In this dvd set, Dr. Ingo Swann lists provides several book reviews for those interested in pursuing the skill of remote viewing.

This is an interesting program about the history and science of RV but not a teaching program on how to do RV. "Enough information to choke a horse and 27 camels" (Ingo)

Remote Viewing Methods - Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing - Lyn Buchanan LIVE 2 DVD Set Remote Viewing Methods - Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing - Lyn Buchanan LIVE 2 DVD Set

Reviews

Composed entirely of heavily-edited weekend (one day ?) courses in a Ramada conference room somewhere, the presentation is primarily anecdotal in nature, loosely following the outline of a Power Point presentation. Lyn initially seemed especially unprepared for the event, having to back-up a few times within the first four or five minutes of the presentation to explain things that should have been explained first. The other problem he has with public speaking is confusing two terms, and stumbling over them both one after the other - an annoying habit to an attentive student like myself Disc 1 (''Basic : Remote Viewing'') - This disc fails to include even a cursory review of RV (unless you consider a comparison of ''the terms used by Lyn vs. the terms used by Ingo'' a review of RV), and can by no means be considered a substitute for an introductory course. As it turns out, this disc is mainly geared toward basic Remote Influencing concepts, which I wasn't terribly interested in, to be honest. My expectation was that I could learn the basics of RV and ignore the RI portions - an entirely mistaken assumption on my part Disc 2 (''Advanced : Remote Influencing'') - Even less structured, and less focused than the first disc. Expands on the first disc primarily by means of personal rumination, some of which is also included in the first disc (such as the ''Secret Factory'') further underscoring of the lack of RV training on disc 1 If you are interested in learning RV you'd be well advised to skip this one - it will never be an important part of that learning curve

This is an interesting program about the history and science of RV but not a teaching program on how to do RV

Remote Viewing - Psychic Spies LIVE 6 Part Series - 3 DVD Set Remote Viewing - Psychic Spies LIVE 6 Part Series - 3 DVD Set

Reviews

Ok here we go. The first presenter somewhat skimmed the surface. The second presenter was performing a strait out hypnosis session. I was ticked because I am a professional hypnotist and I recognized it from the start. This was supposed to teach remote viewing not a flat out opportunity to get over on people by hypnotizing them without them knowing it. that was a bunch of B.S. that's why it didn't make sense to one of the reviewers here. The presenter wasn't giving a seminar on remote viewing he was hypnotizing the audience without telling them what a scam artist.

Thre is some fairly good exercises in there, although a lot is left out. They claim that the government is no longer doing or contracting for remote viewers, which had me asking, "How do these people know?" RVing was prolly renamed as another project and most of the video seemed to lead to websites where you can pay for classes on this subject. Seemed kinda hoaky to me. They also claim you cannot RV numbers and names, although they were having this conference in Las Vegas, and told the audience, before a night of Keno playing, over and over that it doesn't work, it doesn't work for numbers, which is likely BS and the subjects followed suit according to the next day's speaker. They apparently failed miserably as they were told to do the day before, at Keno. After watching, it seemed like they were trying to separate psychics and RV, which seems like a contradiction to me... aren't they one in the same? About the only thing I got out of it was basic being aware of your self, your experiences, your environment, which just about any meditation can do for anyone. By the end, I felt like just about all the speakers ther were trying to sell their classes, which when you look the websites they list on google, they are all connected. If they really cared about getting this informatin out to the public, they'd have shown more technique and had RV testing involved, which only happened twice that I saw (I kept falling asleep while watching it, a it's incredibly boring.) One exercise included an exercise of who was going to sit in a certain chair in the room, which is kinda ridiculous, s who knows who else would or had sit/sat in that same chair. The other exercise was pretty good (2nd spakere 1st disk.)He passed out pinecones, had the audience fell, smell, etc. and write out descriptive words, then ran through an RV exercise that was more of what I would expect from a video on the subject. I rented this 3 DVD, 6-part set and was disappointed that I spent money to rent it, much less spent the money to buy it! IF I'd spent more than $10 or so to buy the set, I'd have been disappointed! Nearly all, if not all, the information and exercises on these DVDs are available on-line for free, AND there is better information on-line for free as well as in books, etc.

This was a lecture series presented in Las Vegas, June 15-17 2001 w/only the use of an overhead. The camera mostly stayed on the speaker or the overhead. The quality of the sound could be better. The menu of the 3 disks was subdivided into chapters for both lectures of each disk. Disk 1, 112 min total. Vol 1: The first lecture w/Gabrelle was the history of RV (1960s pop culture & military use in USA & Soviet Union), describing RV, mental noise (distractions or being biased by outside influences or your own imagination), types of RV (it's not astral projection or out of body experiences), Why learn it? (helps you with day to day), examples of past sessions & 1 simple try of your own guessing what the picture she will use. She is a bit monotoned & boring (which she admits she is even with RV). Vol 2: Has Patrick Marsolek describing action & receptive mode (left or right brain), a Princton Pyschologist, the importance of awareness (self explainitory), maintaining mental states (not that in depth)& states of consciousness. He also spoke slowly & the lecture plodded on & is a hypnotist also in Montana. So far I haven't learn anything except the history of RV. Disk 2, total of 131 min. Vol 1: Pam Coronado does a 5 min picture tribute to Alan Vaughan, his many papers, pyschic studies & statistics on them, precognition & a min or 2 Q&A. She was more emotional about the tribute & better speaker, more earnest, the stitistics was interesting. Vol 2: Dick Allgire talks about the importantance of location in RV (knowing where you are if blindfolded, target contact (finding people/things on maps), what is an 05-D?, great circle Azimuths (the scientific way to use points of origin to find fixed location), Velver examples. This was all about studies how well RVs found things such as people & landmarks. This is mostly how they use scientic data to do it which needs multiple people. Dick is a viewer himself & seems charming. Disk 3, total of 121 min. Vol 1: Lyn Buchanan (ret. army) talks about RV training (not your fault if you can't do it if someone jsut says "go with it"), obstacles students encounter fear of failure), course materials, CRV method, rating the target. Lyn seems very down to earth, matter of fact & bored me the least. Vol 2: Paul Smith talks more about psychology & left/right brain how being pyschic is just being able to be consciously aware of more then the usual 1% the average person is consciously aware from sight, sound, etc. If we were aware of 100% of all of that, we'd never get anything done & have sensory overload, which he said was like agent orange. More about that the left brain tries to complete things, tries to assume what you see is so & so & is usually wrong. Sketching brings out the more acurate right brain that gets the extra info like a picture flashed a split second that you don't consioucly see. He also goes into how information can be tarnished by outside distractions & left brain. The last DVD I think people would get the most out of as I stated what I remember most & learned most from the dvd.

The clapper is amazing! I gave it to my friend for her birthday and she loved it. When you combine entertainment with functionality, you get a great product.

MY CLAPPER PLUS LASTED EXACTLY ONE MONTH....AMAZON SHOULDN'T SELL ANY "AS SEEN ON TV ' ITEMS.....I TRUSTED YOU AMAZON.

Clapper Plus works perfectly and as advertised. The remote control is great because I do not awaken others in the house by clapping!

I received the item brand new in a box and i had planned to use it for a heater but then i read the instructions and the clapper will ONLY work on appliances LESS THAN 250 watts. So i decided just to use it for a couple lights and now it works fine. So do not buy this if your appliance is more than 250 watts.

I bought this because I often fall asleep reading without turning the lights in my bedroom out. I received the Clapper+ in early Sept/09 and by early Nov/09, it had broken. At first, it worked as expected once I got the clap sequences down. However, the clap sensor eventually became weaker and I had to clap louder and louder. Once the light bulb burned out, I replaced it and a week later, the bulb was burned out and the clapper was dead. I double-checked the voltage of the light bulb and it was within the allowable range. Unfortunately, it is too late to return it. The remote also only worked some of the time.

my 80 year old mother-in-law lives with us and can hardly see. She was using the TV less and less because our remote' buttons were too small and complicated. she loves the tek-pal remote and now uses the tv much more.

For my 88 year old mother - very simple, but for use with cable it's a little hard, as you can't skip around on the channels - only up and down, so you have to go all the way around.

Fantastic easy remote. I was skeptical because I didnt think it would work with my VIZIO TV but it did like a charm. Highly recommend it.

Just what the doctor ordered. Has a minimum of buttons with just required functions. No unneccessary buttons that just confuse my mother. Could not be easier to set up. Buttons are large so that my mother doesn't press multiple buttons at the same time. It is a control that doesn't confuse her and she can use. It is just what I was looking for. Price seemed reasonable.

Device is easy to hold and set up with any TV system. Has all the basic functions required for everday use when sighted assistance not available.

My 90 year old father-in-law had a hard time with the tiny buttons on his new TV remote - and WAY too many buttons that he would never use! This is very simple has very big buttons - great for arthritic hands! With only volume, channel, on/off, and mute buttons, this is just perfect - and real easy to set up too.

Ordered this remote for a family member -- it's very light weight in hand -- the buttons are huge and light to the touch -- quite simple to use: there are only 6 buttons, which, by the way, light up in the dark.

remote did not work on memorex 22" TV/dvd combo - tv was new Dec. 2009 and works perfectly - remote would change volume and turn TV on and off but would not change channel

this is a great product. its being used rather than a complicated remote so no confusion or getting the tv brain somewhere it takes 20 minutes to return from. everyone in the house is glad we got this remote.

I had no problem setting this up on a new HDTV. On an older TV it took me about 20 minutes to get to the proper step that 'shut off the TV'. Keep going through the sequence of hitting the Channel + key (and releasing) until your TV shuts off, then immediately hit MUTE. Don't give up. It seems like it cycles through each possible code until the TV finally responds. Once setup, it's a great simple remote for the elderly !!

I bought this unit just so I could watch TV while working at home on my computer (talk about ADD). At first I thought the unit was dead cause it was recognized once, then dead for a couple of days. I reinstalled their software (from CD and online update) numerous times to no avail. Tried it on my other laptop without any luck. Was ready to throw it out the window but by chance I was also ready to upgrade from XP to Win 7 around the same time. I installed Win 7 and Media Center and bingo! It was recognized just fine (after also installing the Win 7 MC Hauppage patch). So in the end the thing is working ok and I can use it efectevely. However, I am amazed about the crappy software and installation support that comes with this product. It is also very hard to find a TV tuner with great ratings accross the board, it always seems so hit and miss, not sure why the can't get their act straight.

I bought this TV tuner so that I could watch TV on my laptop when I am away from home. I plugged in the tuner into the USB port and Windows XP automatically found the correct drivers. Then I installed the provided WinTV software and it continually froze up my computer. I tried Windows Media Center and that worked great, including the signal strength indicators in the channel setup. I am about 40 miles from the nearest television stations and could not get any stations with the provided antenna. I tried a rabbit ears antenna and got one station if I held the antenna in a precise and steady position. If I move it just slightly, I lost the signal. When I did get good reception, the picture/sound was good using Media Center. Recommendations: *Don't even bother with this unit, if you are not near TV stations. I think the instructions say 10 miles. You may be able to get more with a roof top antenna, but I can do that on my TV. The point of getting this unit in the first place was to get TV on my laptop. *Don't use the provided WinTV software. Just use Windows Media Center. *Close all nonessential programs before running and I mean all. This unit requires most of your CPU capacity and a lot of your memory. I have 2 GB RAM and a 2.00 GHz ADM Turion 64 Mobile Processor and it works fine if I close all other software.

If you own a Mac do not hesitate to buy this product. It works great with the excellent Elgato EyeTV software (I think version 3.2 and up). Its an EyeTV Hybrid for a third of the price. Although I believe it takes a pretty fast Mac to have a 1080HD picture. Very pleased!

This was very easy to install and use. My 6 yr old computer that had to be replaced had an internal tuner card so when I purchased a new computer I missed the tv features. This takes care of that. This has all the same features as you get the program guide and can record programs and save to dvd as well. The remote will not work with the stick being installed on a desktop because it cannot connect with the sensor. But if you were to use on a laptop you could use the remote. I am quite pleased with this purchase as I did not want to attempt to install an internal tv tuner card. Upon turning on your computer you need to start the WinTV application and have it buffer and tune a station before closing it and then switching to Windows Media Center for the best picture and recording features.

I have Eye TV for Mac at home, which is outstanding. Unfortunately, we're still on PCs at work, so when I purchased this to bring my TV signal to my desktop, I hoped that it would work as well as Eye TV. Not quite. While the picture quality is outstanding and it pulls in lots of digital channels that basic cable doesn't otherwise provide, it provides absolutely no guide to figure out which channel is which -- you are left to scroll until you find the channel you're looking for. (Eye TV has a channel and program guide that updates automatically). Also, it sometimes destabilizes my PC when I change channels.

I've been using this with my HTPC Mac Mini with EyeTV and it's been working great. Use on a wired connection for best results.

This is pulling in more OTA stations than my panasonic flat screen. Perhaps they have improved the tuners since the previous reviews. The signal strength meter is far more helpful as well. I can say the software is being updated, even at this date. Yes, it takes a little network and computer horse power to get this working nicely. It can be plugged directly into your PC NIC as well.

Works great with Win7 Media Center. Not so much with Mac OS10 without additional software.

I have been watching this item for some time and was very hesitant to try it for fear it wouldn't work as promised. Well I finally bought one and it works exactly as promised. In fact I now have 2 units and I'm able to watch tv on all my Windows 7 pc's through media center. I haven't yet tried it on my Macbook Pro so I can't comment on that. The concept of removing the tuner from the PC really blew me away. It makes total sense to have a shared resource directly connected to the network like a printer. I highly recommend this to anyone with clear QAM over cable or decent OTA ATSC reception using Windows Media Center 7.

I have owned tuners by a couple of other good companies like Hauppauge and ATI, but this one pulls in the signal the best. I have two of these, and they work great!

This tuner card works great with Microsoft Windows 7 media center. With its dual tuners plus an older USB tuner I can record three shows at once or record two and watch a third. When installing this I discovered it was too big for my small computer. Only after preparing to return it and searching for a replacement did I discover that it comes with parts to make it smaller. Nowhere in the instructions did I see this information and only when I looked for smaller cards did I recognize the adapter it came with. When installing I had to add software, unlike my USB tuner, which worked immediately. Installing the remote software is tricky (as described elsewhere) and it was all for nothing because the remote barely works. I would say it responds to commands about 25% of the time. I comes with a bunch of extra stuff I didn't use, like recording software and additional inputs and outputs.

I connected to cable and got stations I should only get if I had a set top cable box - saved money :) The Aux adapter allowed me to input my old VCR and video recorder input the computer, via the HVR-2250 The video software included, WinTV7, is OK and uses the new tv format standard .TS, but does not include a Electronic Programming Guide to schedule program recording; so I had to use Microsoft Media Center. However Media Center now records TV in a strange format (.WTV) which is hard to convert (I have Windows 7 so I can right click on the .WTV file and convert it to the old DVR-MS file) The HVR-2250 card is GREAT, wish Microsoft wouldn't try to re-invent the world with their new recording format.

I don't normally write reviews on products but I can't remain silent and let other customers have the same distasteful experience that I've had with this product. First, my setup: Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2GB DDR2 RAM ASUS P5B-E Motherboard Windows XP SP3 HP w2558 hc, 25.5", 1920 X 1200 resolution monitor Years ago I had enjoyed one of Hauppage's analog TV tuners. With the advent of over-the-air HDTV broadcasts I more recently upgraded to the ATI TV Wonder 650. Because ATI had no Win 7 driver support, I thought that I'd be stepping it up a notch by upgrading to this product for my new build that I'm about to do. Needless to say, in trying it out on my old XP system I was sorely disappointed in this product and Hauppauge as a whole. My biggest complaint is the picture quality. I thought that with the constant advancement of technology and from the raving reviews I had read online that I was to see an improvement in picture quality over my aging ATI 650. Boy was I wrong. The only time the picture even looks halfway decent is when you have it shrunk into a small corner of you monitor. Don't even bother trying to watch 1080i ATSC broadcasts in full screen mode--dropped frames, jerky movement, jaggies, blurring, pixelation and just a general lack of quality are what you see. Having used my ATI card for years I was used to a better quality picture and the difference was stark. My other beef with this product is how apparently inefficiently it does its job. Opening task manager and looking at how this tuner's associated processes ate up my system's resources was quite amazing. For example, my ATI 650 averaged around 15% CPU usage while watching 1080i ATSC programs. This product is around 25-50% and both cores go to work. Besides that, installing this product parks on your PC two processes named "CAPTUR~3.EXE" that suck up 97 and 83 MB of RAM, respectively, whether you have the WIN TV program open or not. I understand that they each correspond to a tuner processor and are there to enable the product to "wake up" and record a scheduled program, but a constant 200 MB drain seems wasteful. For those not having powerful computers this product will give them a lot of slowdown. I won't even get into the issues I have with the software, as the above was enough to convince me to return this product post haste, despite taking the 15% open box return fee. Better to cut my losses now then have to endure this shoddy piece of hardware--this literal eyesore any longer. If this is their top-of-the-line product I'd hate to see their lesser offerings.

When I first installed the software & drivers I had several issues, the card stopped working after waking the computer up, the WinTV7 wasn't working properly, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling everything several times. After downloading the software updates from the hauppauge website, most of the problems were fixed, still have some bugs, but is working much better. The auxiliary A/V panel came with mini-jack ports for the audio, I first thought those were RCA ports by looking at some pictures on the internet. The remote control is just good for me, haven't give any problems yet, and the TV card works very well with the Windows 7 Media Center. Right now I'm running Windows 7 64 bits and using it with analog cable TV. What I find really annoying is the lag created when changing the channel, it takes around 2 seconds to be able to see the picture because of the encoding, is not much but I'm used to a faster response. This was improved on a WinTV 7 update by adding some hauppague codecs that makes it a little bit faster, but on MCE you'll probably have to mess with the registry to get that fixed. That gets worst if you're planning to plug a device such as a DVD into the auxiliary A/V, you'll definitely notice the lag when using the DVD remote control.

Works great with Windows media Center on Windows 7. I had to load the WinTV though to record video off the VCR, which is why I purchase the card. Pinnacle Studio was not compatible with this product to allow import direct fromt he PCI card, therefore, I had to use the WinTV to record the VCR tape, WinTV then converted it to a JPM format that I could import into Pinnacle Studio to render to a DVD disk. All in all, the product is excellent.

My only real complaint is that it is a bit of a struggle to set up. I have had two other harmony remotes and for each one I always end up having to call tech support to finish the set up. Tech phone support has been excellent and almost always gave me the information I needed to finish the support. Note "almost", there are thousands of remotes out there and this remote can almost function as almost all of them. There are a few situations were it gets close enough to mostly work but not always perfectly. I can live with these few glitches in order to get rid of the extra remotes. I would highly recommend getting the wireless extender! It makes it possible to hide your components in any cabinet and not worry about having a "obstruction free line of site" to the component.

This is the neatest whiz-bang gadget you could imagine. From that perspective it is a hands-down winner. What I wanted though, was simply to replace the 4 seperate remotes I needed to operate my Sony Juke Box DVD player, LG BlueRay player, Sony A/V receiver, and LG LCD TV. Out of the box it is easy to get your hopes up. Initial set up moves fairly quickly, although the included software does not support Windows 7, it is easy enough to download from the Logitech site. The first hint of things to come is when setting up a device you have to answer many questions about how your current remote controls x, y, z, etc. If the device is supported in the Logitech database why is this necessary? For my Sony DVP-CX995V, an older 400 disc DVD jukebox player, several of the questions weren't quite answerable. Likewise with my LG 47LH90, a new model TV. As a consequence neither of these devices worked quite right with the remote. Many frustrating hours later and I finally have a basic capability but I still have to keep all four of my old remotes handy. And be cautioned, the Harmony has no way of knowing if you use your original remote and is then out of synch with the device. Any subsequent uses of the Harmony result in unpredictable results. After I thought I had all of this under control I attempted to impress a guest with my new toy. Ten minutes later and I finally had to give up and pull out the old remotes to simply; Turn everything on, select the correct inputs for each device, select the desired disc in the DVD player, and play it. Even when it works, the process is so involved, requiring multiple pages of menus, etc. that I could never explain it's use to anyone. Another complaint is the poor battery performance. The remote defaults to a mode where the display goes blank in what seems like a second after it is idle. If you're trying to decide what to press next (a VERY common situation) that is very aggravating. Even so it won't make it through a two hour movie without a low battery. My most recent gripe is that, after I thought I had everything working, I had to select the DVD player as a device to access the menu and then could not control the volumn (one of the few hard keys on the remote)without going through many layers of menus to get the receiver re-recgonised. To the Logitech help guys that pooh-pooh my complaints, try doing that while interacting with a 'friend', a movie, and a bottle of wine. I work in a technical field and I think I have the ability to make this work. The point is that something that costs this much should not require this much effort just to do the basics. Plus when I do get a chance to kick back I want to watch a movie, not play with the remote. So. This isn't going to work for me and somebody will get a great deal on e-bay. But it isn't a slam on the remote either. It is what it is and there are lots of people that will be in techie heaven programming and playing with this thing. Pros: Great high-tech look, Controls almost everything, programmable to a degree. Cons: HIGH cost, poor battery performance, slave to Logitech website for any remote programming, convoluted set up and control use, too complicated to expect non tech-savy family members to ever get it.

Before I purchased this remote I researched the various forums. Although there were some disparaging remarks about the device the majority were good. I have not been disappointed by the product, its service or the customer support. If you purchase this you will find that you are constantly fine tuning it to your exact requirements. This is an on going process as you discover features you want to add. Adding features is a simple task. This remote does everything I'd hoped it would. I've had it for a few months now and still pleased. If you are looking for a remote that will replace every other remote you have this is the one. I can now watch a DVD, with the TV off, by touching one button on the remote. It turns the TV on, sets it to the correct input, turns on the home theater, sets it to the correct input and turns on the DVD, all by pushing one button....my wife says" fantastic"..a happy wife is make life so much better.

Before buying this remote I checked the Logitech web site list to make certain that all of my equipment was supported (everything was listed). When I had problems with one item I got a surprise. When I contacted support they said "the projector is highly rated in our database". Later when they were not being successful in resolving the problem they said "the commands are not in our database". Well, if the commands are not in their database, why do they rate the item highly -- and why do they list it as fully supported. I would caution that seeing your equipment on the list does not necessarily mean that the remote will work. Go figure! For the equipment that the remote worked with, it is quite nice and it did let me put aside several remotes and simplify things. I have set it up to work with equipment in 3 rooms and a total of 12 equipment items (the projector would have been 13). Tech Support is still working to see if they can get the projector to work. Today I got an update that turns the projector on and off, but none of the other functions work (brightness, contrast, aspect ...about 15 items total). UPDATE: another update from tech support has resolved ALL problems. As I was setting up the remote to work with the various items, tech support was very responsive (I had some other problems but they were easy to resolve). I also love the LARGE and LIGHTED display that lets you see the controls when the room is darkened. It may take you some time to customize, but it is well worth the effort!!!

Ok I got the remote 1 day ago. All i have to say about this universal remote is good things. Setup on my many gadgets was fast and very easy. This device is very easy to use. Its a device that catches someones eye in a second. Everyone who comes over wants to play with it. Never had a universal remote like this one its the perfect remote.
